Leonie Schöler, born in 1993, is a historian , journalist and presenter who uses her work to convey historical knowledge in an innovative and accessible way and is very committed to women in history and in general.
Her first non-fiction book , " Stolen Women, " was published by Penguin in spring 2024. This work sheds light on the sad truth of how women make history, but men get the credit for it. It reveals the overlooked history of women who have been cheated out of their achievements and rights over time. The book is celebrated as a significant contribution to gender equality and historical enlightenment and immediately became a Spiegel bestseller .
On her popular TikTok and Instagram channels (@heeyleonie), she inspires over 230,000 followers with exciting insights into historical events and current political events. Her unique approach to presenting complex topics in an entertaining and informative way has made her a prominent voice in the digital education landscape.
As an editor and filmmaker, Leonie has worked for various ZDF productions as well as FUNK , including "Hunters and Collectors", the "Y-Kollektiv" and "Auf Klo". Her documentary about the Tönnies system, produced for ZDFinfo in summer 2021, and the eight-part web video series on the Wannsee Conference for ZDF, published in January 2022, demonstrate her ability to present profound historical topics in a gripping way.
Since November 2022, Leonie Schöler has been hosting the ZDFinfo format “ Heureka ” on YouTube, where, as a historian, she explains complex historical contexts and brings them closer to a broad audience.
